40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion. It draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:

•    Prayer and Fasting
•    Peaceful Vigil
•    Community Outreach

The 40 Days for Life campaign is a major component of Montgomery County Right to Life’s efforts.  MCRTL has been a sponsor of local 40 Days efforts since 40 Days’ first campaign in 2007.  We know that prayer changes hearts and circumstances!

Since the first coordinated campaign through the end of 2017, local campaign leaders in the United States and 50 other countries have reported these blessings — God’s answers to their prayers:

  • 5,605 total campaigns
  • 769 cities
  • 750,000 individual participants
  • 19,000 churches
  • 14,643 lives saved from abortion
  • 177 abortion workers have left their jobs
  • 96 abortion facilities closed

This fall’s 40 days for Life campaign runs from September 26 – November 4.  MCRTL is coordinating prayer outside the Planned Parenthood facility at 4747 Louetta. We will be praying for the unborn babies, for their families, and for the clinic workers.

By God’s grace, we will have an unbroken chain of prayer with every hour from 7am-7pm filled. Please join us in praying for this.

Please visit our dedicated 40 Days website to view the vigil calendar and sign up to pray.

Whether you are an individual joining us, or a church sponsoring a day, it is vital that each adult signs up for the hours they will be coming out to pray for these reasons:

When everyone signs up they will be required to sign an online statement of peace, which gives us a unified, peaceful tone. Signing up also gives us everyone’s email addresses so we can send out invites to the vigil events, as well as helps others who sign up to know if certain hours are available or have already been taken. This is especially important!

Let’s get on our knees for the sake of our community. Let’s make abortion unthinkable.  We want this PP facility closed and women redirected to the many life giving options we have in our community.

In addition to individual person sign-ups, MCRTL is praying for churches and groups to “sponsor” a day.  Sponsoring a day simply means the church/group specifically works to recruit folks to pray and fill the vigil hours for that day.  Individuals from outside the sponsoring group are still encouraged to come as pray as they can.   The more prayer – the better!

Please  email if your church or group would like to sponsor a day.
