Reading Time: 4 minutes

Tonight from 5:30-6:30 pm, we will conclude this fall’s 40 Days for Life with a Candlelight Vigil.  Join us in committing our effort to God and thanking Him for the work He has done internationally and locally in hearts and minds over the past 40 days.  Please read this stirring testimony from our local vigil!

Dear Friends of Life,

Last Tuesday Living Branch Church from Conroe came to the vigil site.  Read and be encouraged that God is at work!

From Pastor Kjell Johansson:

“It went very well today. We had sixteen people from our church spread out during the day. We left around six o’clock since everybody had left Planned Parenthood around 5:30.

We were troubled by the amount of customers (victims) that came to the clinic this day. More than I ever have seen, especially the first two hours in the morning and again around lunch and the hour after lunch. It was staggering to see how many African American girls and couples that came. We estimate around 80% of this particular demographic.

We got to hand out information around 4-5 times. We do have one great story to tell. I was covering the one o’clock hour by myself, and as I am standing there holding a sign and praying, an SUV drives into the parking lot and parks right in front of me. The lady in the car rolls down the window and starts asking questions about what we are doing. I explain about 40 Days for Life and about different organizations in the area. We are having a great conversation.

This lady was African American and around 50 years old (she told me) and very conservative, pro-life, pro traditional family and a member of a large Baptist church in the North Houston area.  She also had an abortion herself in her younger years prior to her becoming a follower of Christ.

While we are having a very inspiring “spiritual pep talk” type of conversation that goes on for quite a while, a young lady comes out of Planned Parenthood and gets into her little car next to this lady’s SUV.

We had tried to stop our conversation several time at this point, but we were just too inspired to stop, and now we understand why. I suddenly glance over to the little car with the young lady and notice that she is crying heavily. I ask the lady I am speaking with if she would consider going over to talk to this girl. She was happy to do that. Being a woman and being another African American it seemed like a perfect fit.

After about a 15 min conversation in the parking lot (while we are praying hard), the young lady gets out her car and hops in the ladies SUV and they drive off. An hour later they come back. The young lady has now accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and she was lovingly ministered to in a time of deep need. They exchanged information and my new friend promised to stay in touch and help disciple this young lady.

We were so excited as we realized that God had staged this.  My new friend was God’s perfect choice to minister to this young 20 year old. She would not have stopped if I had not been there, and we would never have had a chance to minister to this young lady if our conversation had been shorter.”

Praise God!  Thank you for being where the need is Church!

As we are faithful to fast and pray these last two weeks be encouraged that our Savior is in the saving business. We just need to show up!
