April 4 marked the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Alveda King, Dr. King’s niece and daughter of his brother, Rev. A. D. Williams King, says, “If Uncle MLK were here today, he would likely remind us that we can live together as brothers [and sisters]; rather than perish together as fools…We must agree to ‘value the human personality’ from the womb to the tomb.”
As a guardian of the King Family Legacy, Dr. Alveda King has been featured in various news media sources reflecting on the anniversary. A special documentary, “Unsolved History: Life of A King” will air across the nation during the next few weeks. The documentary will be shown locally on May 13 at 1 pm on CBS (KHOU).
Dr. King is a noted civil rights activist herself and is often in demand for her knowledge and firsthand experience of the 20th Century Civil Rights Movement.
Dr. Alveda King is also at the forefront of the Pro-Life movement. She will speak on the issue of our day – the Right to Life – at the Dinner for Life banquet Saturday, April 21. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Dr. King!
