40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil Kickoff Rally – September 30
Saturday, September 30th, is the date for Montgomery County Right to Life’s Kickoff for the fall 40 Days for Life vigil! The vigil runs from September 27th thru November 5. Our kickoff rally this campaign will again be at the Planned Parenthood facility at 4747 Louetta. We will meet at 10:15 am on the grassy esplanade in front of PP.
We will start off with some live worship music led by Curt Locklear. Then we will pray for one hour until 11:30 am. If you have never prayed at the vigil site before, this will be the perfect time to experience it for yourself. You’ll be in great company!
What better way is there to start the 40 days for Life campaign than to visit the location ourselves and demonstrate God’s love as we pray for the unborn children, their parents, and the abortion workers themselves. Much is accomplished through prayer and love and it is so important to go where the hurting people are. Please take time to read our open letter, Why Pray Outside Abortion Facilities.
We ask that you please do not park in the parking lot directly in front of the Planned Parenthood facility. Also DO NOT park in the small business center just east of Planned Parenthood – the one that includes Chic Floors and the cupcake shop. The owners have begun having the cars of non-customers towed.
Please park instead along the residential side street or one of the alternate larger parking lots.
We will also have 40 Days for Life brochures and signs available. We hope you will share the brochures and information with your pastor or group. We would like to see 40 (or more!) churches sign up for the 40 days. We need your help to make that possible!
MCRTL will be coordinating prayer at the Planned Parenthood facility at 4747 Louetta throughout the fall campaign. Please visit our dedicated 40 Days website to view the vigil calendar and sign-up to pray. Downloadable flyers and other 40 Days materials are also available there.
In addition to the 40 Days for Life vigils MCRTL and some area churches have maintained prayer year-round outside the Louetta Planned Parenthood since it opened in April 2013. MCRTL volunteers are at the facility every Saturday morning from 8-9:30 am to pray and to provide tangible help to the young women and men who come over to talk. Via our Gift Bags we provide our Health Services List which directs those in need to area crisis pregnancy centers, Bath & Body Works lotion to let them know they are loved, information regarding their baby’s development, etc.
To truly get a feel for the ministry that occurs during the Saturday prayer times, please click the Our Blog tab. The vignettes shared clearly demonstrate that it is the Lord who is doing the work and that prayer and love are powerful forces!
