Conceived by Force, Loved by Choice – Monthly Meeting January 31

When a woman is a victim of rape, emotional healing can be a long and grueling process.  When this violent, intrusive act results in pregnancy, the stakes are high for both the mother and child.  Some believe it is barbaric to ask a woman to carry to term a child conceived by rape. Even many who consider themselves Pro-Life make an exception in the case of rape. The brave mother who chooses Life in such a case recognizes the baby should not be judged by the actions of the rapist.  We must also defend the right to life of these…

Protecting our Most Vulnerable

On January 22, Pro-Life Americans watched in horror as Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law New York’s Reproductive Health Act, making late-term abortions available up until birth in the state. As the governor and democratic legislators celebrated, Pro-Life advocates grieved over the passing of this horrific law and what it will mean for babies, mothers, fathers, and our nation. While the Texas legislature remains predominantly Pro-Life, we can never take our state laws for granted. We as citizens need to be vigilant to understand and support the proposed bills which can provide further protection for the unborn, disabled, sick,…

March Monthly Meeting – Volunteer Opportunity

Instead of our normal meeting format, our March Monthly Meeting will be dedicated to preparation for our 2019 Dinner for Life!  Come join the fun as we knock out some of those necessary tasks like rolling napkins or any other banquet prep work requested by our DFL chairs. Closing 40 Days for Life Candlelight Vigil

Please join us on Monday, April 15, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Planned Parenthood at 4747 Louetta, as we commemorate the Spring 40 Days for Life campaign with a candlelight vigil. Let us pray and acknowledge God as he is the only One that can stop the evil of abortion. There is much to remember and celebrate as God's hand continues to move through prayer. Though this concentrated effort is coming to a close, MCRTL considers prayer and presence perhaps the most important work we can do all year round! During this spring's 40 Days for Life campaign, we…

Healing for the Post-Abortive Man – June Monthly Meeting – June 27

As the abortion debate has intensified, the heart of the Pro-Life movement has changed. Angry, solemn protests with graphic and condemning posters have given way to a more prayerful, peaceful approach, which offers hope to women both considering abortion or healing from one. This shift is no doubt partially responsible for the steady decline in abortions over the last 3 decades. But many are seeing the need for an additional shift in focus. Author Chris Rainey reminds us that for every abortion, a man is involved. Like women, men often find themselves plagued with guilt, regret, and emotional trauma, even…

China’s One Child Policy – July Monthly Meeting – July 25

Although the Chinese government hails their One Child Policy as a success in reducing the population by 400 million, this did not come without cost of the greatest kind - the blatant taking of human life.  According to an article published in The New American in 2013, 336 million abortions were performed in China during the past 40 years, and most were forced upon unmarried women and those pregnant with a second child.  In addition, 196 million sterilizations were performed and 403 million women were fitted with intrauterine devices, often against their will. Due to concerns over potential labor shortages and…
