At MCRTL we believe that the passing of the torch to the next generation is key to effecting true change in our culture.  We are thrilled to have a team of young people eager to run with that torch!  Please make plans to join us for our August Monthly Meeting and invite the young people you know.

We will be introducing you to two young women with big ideas! Maya Abraham and Elizabeth Bachert are high school students, and two of our student contest winners, with a passion for the unborn and the desire to see their generation receive the Pro-Life message.

Myah Abraham, uses YouTube to influence her generation toward a respect for Life.  YouTube has replaced traditional media as the primary means of how young people get “news”.  Myah will share her expertise in making and communicating via videos uploaded to YouTube.  You too can be a YouTuber and communicate Life!

Elizabeth has also started a Pro-Life ministry through which she aims to dispel the pro-choice myths being fed to her generation.  She needs our support for the purchase of display items and materials that reveal the truth about Life within the womb. Elizabeth is raising funds for these items through the sale of this Let Life Live t-shirt that she designed!  She will be taking orders for the t-shirts at the meeting.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet MCRTL’s six Dr. Joseph Graham ProLife Fellows serving three of our Lone Star campuses!   Tori Ramos-Mata, Briana Arvizu, Josiah Sutton, Abi Barreras, Christian Castro, and Hannah Bray will be leading Pro-Life clubs on the LSC Montgomery, Tomball, and Cy-Fair campuses for the 2019-20 school term.

The Fellows will be coordinating events, volunteer projects, displays, etc. that will promote a respect for Life.  These activities inform students during this pivotal time in their lives and also provide a means for fellow Pro-Life students to connect and be an influence on their campuses.

The following testimony by Yvette Mena, a former Lone Star-Montgomery student, demonstrates how the Lone Star Pro-Life Club on the Montgomery campus impacted her life.

My second year at Lone Star College-Montgomery. a new friend, Rachael, asked me if I wanted to join her at a meeting.  The meeting was open for anyone with an open mind and I decided to go as a tag-along.  When I walked into the meeting, I discovered that it was a meeting talking about how many abortions have occurred since Roe vs. Wade in 1973.  At the time, I had no previous opinion on the subject–I did not even see it as an issue. It was at this meeting that I got a taste of what it meant to be Pro-Life.  I stayed involved with Lone Star Pro-Life Club and even went with the group to the March for Life in Austin.  My commitment grew and I am now a Dr. Joseph Graham Pro-Life Fellow – like my friend, Rachael.  I will be spreading the Pro-Life message on the campus of Sam Houston State University – working to make abortion unthinkable through truth, love, and peace.

The two existing Pro-Life clubs on the Lone Star College campuses (Lone Star Right to Life and Pro-Life Timberwolves) were begun and continue to be lead by students who have received Pro-Life scholarships through MCRTL.  The new club that is being formed this year on the LSC- Cy-Fair campus will be started by Christian Castro and Hannah Bray.  They have incredible plans in place for a dynamic Pro-Life presence on their campus.  Come hear their vision and about the plans for LSC-Montgomery and LSC-Tomball.  We need these leaders’ voices on campus and they need our support!

This is going to be a fun meeting celebrating our youth and the start of a new school year!  Bring your teens and tell the young people you know.  The meeting will start at 7, but please join us at 6:30 for food and fellowship. We hope to see you there!
